Ms. Willey is a distinguished professional in the field of nutritional counseling, serving as the chief executive officer at Simply Science Nutrition Counseling LLC. Since 2022, she has been dedicated to organizing client services and providing care for patients and students. Her expertise spans nutritional counseling, wellness, organizational effectiveness, leadership, clinical nutrition and food safety. Her commitment to her profession is further demonstrated through her membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics since 2013, as well as her involvement with educator preceptor groups, the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, and the American Diabetes Association.

In addition to her role at Simply Science Nutrition Counseling, Ms. Willey has been an adjunct professor at Thiel College and Carrington College since 2024 and serves as an adjunct faculty member at Youngstown State University, a position she has held since 2018. Her contributions to academia include teaching courses in general nutrition and sports nutrition. Outside these teaching roles, she was a consultant dietitian at Diamond Nutrition Counseling Inc. from 2022 to 2024 and a certified diabetes educator and dietitian at Mercy Health Diabetes Management from 2020 until 2022.

Previously in her career, Ms. Willey held positions such as lead clinical dietitian at Mercy Health-St. Joseph Warren Hospital between 2018 and 2020 and renal dietitian at Fresenius Medical Care North America from 2017 to 2018. Her early experience includes working as an outpatient diabetes dietitian and clinical dietitian at UPMC Jameson from 2016 until 2017. She completed her dietetic internship at Indiana University of Pennsylvania from 2015 to 2016.

Laying the foundation for Ms. Willey's career has been her educational achievements. She earned a bachelor's degree in nutrition sciences from Kent State University in 2015, graduating with summa cum laude distinction, followed by a master's degree in nutrition sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2017. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctor of Education at the American College of Education with an expected completion in 2027. Her numerous accreditations include being a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist since 2020 and a licensed dietitian nutritionist, among various other licenses.

Beyond her professional life, Ms. Willey's dedication extends into civic engagement. She promotes and donates to Nine Point Nine, supporting women learning trades, and contributes to the Healthy Hearts and Paws Project by gathering supplies for the animal shelter. Her accolades include receiving the Foundation Scholarship from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2024 and the Dean's Award for Research from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2017.

Reflecting on her career, Ms. Willey attributes much of her success to having a strong support system, especially her mother, Betsy, and father, Earl Willey. She also believes that genuine care and confidence in one's ability to create change are crucial, acknowledging that this is a common area of struggle for many people.

Looking ahead, Ms. Willey plans to expand her virtual dietetic counseling services across more states, including Texas, Illinois and Florida, so that she may further provide valuable resources for nutrition, counseling and gut health. She also aims to establish a nonprofit called Fueling Prevention to promote nutrition education in schools and youth programs while pursuing certification as a personal trainer.
