He has served as the president of the Veteran Support Foundation since 2005, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to supporting veterans' causes. Previously, Mr. King's leadership skills were evident during his tenure as the national public affairs chairperson for Vietnam Veterans of America from 2005 to 2011.

Among other civic engagements, Mr. King has been highly engaged with the NVBDC in Detroit, serving as the founder and chief executive officer. His work with the NVBDC focuses on understanding and assisting entrepreneurs and business owners in navigating the complexities of working with government entities at various levels. In recognition of his contributions, he was featured in a VA Veteran Feature Video in 2012. He was also decorated with a National Commendation Medal from Vietnam Veterans of America in 2015. Mr. King attributes much of his success to his wife, whose support has been instrumental throughout his career and personal challenges related to his experiences as a Vietnam veteran.
