DENVER, CO, February 17, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Julissa Soto has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

For over three decades, Julissa Soto has been a steadfast champion of social justice and an unwavering advocate for the health and well-being of Latino immigrant communities, not only in Colorado but also on national, international, and global platforms. Her tireless efforts have led to transformative changes, including her instrumental role in securing Medicaid access for undocumented children and pregnant women in Colorado, a landmark achievement that garnered recognition from Governor Jared Polis, who declared September 20, 2021, as "Julissa Soto Day."

As the founder and CEO of Julissa Soto Latino Health Equity Consulting, Soto has been a pivotal figure in advancing policies centered on equity and justice within nonprofit organizations and government agencies. Since the firm's inception in 2020, she has focused on the meticulous review of grant applications to ensure they align with the genuine needs of marginalized communities, continuing her lifelong mission to improve public health outcomes for underserved populations.

Soto's leadership transcends her consulting endeavors. Since 2022, she has been a distinguished member of the Health Equity Commission for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), where she has contributed significantly to the development of the department's Equity Strategic Plans and the recent CDPHE Equity Report. Her extensive career in public health includes 18 years as regional director at the American Diabetes Association, advocating for health equity, as well as a leadership role at the Alzheimer's Association, further cementing her prominence in the nonprofit sector.

In addition to her consulting and public health leadership, Soto is deeply engaged in a variety of prestigious professional organizations. She is a dedicated member of the National Hispanic Medical Association, the National Association of Community Health Workers, and the Denver Guild of the Catholic Medical Association. She also contributes to the Immunization Workgroup of the National Association of County and City Health Officials, and actively participates in committees focused on behavioral health equity and suicide prevention.

Soto's civic engagement is equally remarkable, with leadership roles in several community organizations. She serves as vice president of the Colorado Springs Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and co-chairs the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee for the Accountable Care Collaborative Program Improvement Advisory Committee at the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy & Financing.

Her exceptional contributions to health equity and public service have garnered numerous accolades, including the 2024 Disruptor of the Year Award from the African Chamber of Commerce Colorado and the 2023 Distinguished Service Award from the University of Colorado and Children's Hospital Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Soto's vision for the future remains resolute—one where equity permeates every facet of society, and where universal healthcare access is not a privilege, but a right. She continues to advocate for a world in which all individuals, regardless of their background, can receive the care and support they deserve.

Julissa Soto's unwavering dedication to health equity and social justice fuels her tireless pursuit of a more inclusive, compassionate, and just society for all.
