Dr. John is distinguished in the health care industry, leveraging over three decades of expertise in anesthesia and critical care medicine. Driven by an innate desire to serve others and provide the best possible health care, he decided to delve into medical education to ensure that prospective medical professionals are well-equipped with the resources they need to excel. Since 1997, Dr. John has been a member of the department of anesthesia and critical care medicine at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Over the course of his career, he has emphasized that medicine is a vast, open endeavor. He notes that the ability to help and care for others is a cherished gift nobody should take for granted.
A disseminator of information, Dr. John has authored several books, such as "Anesthesia Tropical Updates" and "Anesthesia Essential Clinical Updates" in 2018 and "Critical Care Protocols," and "Critical Care Survival Kit" in 2019. Additionally, he has sat on the editorial board of the Journal of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine and served as the editor of "Recent Advances in Anesthesiology." Furthermore, Dr. John possesses a civic-minded attitude, having served as a volunteer with several groups that provide health care services to underserved communities.
As a testament to his achievements in the field, Dr. John has earned a myriad of accolades. Since 2003, he has been highlighted among America's Top Physicians in anesthesia and critical care, and in 2013, he was honored as one of the Leading Physicians in the World. A fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, Dr. John was named a Top Doctor in Maryland in 2020, and in 2020 and 2022, he was honored as Doctor of the Year. EDUCATION HIGHLIGHTS
Dr. John received a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University in 1982. Following this achievement, he earned an MD from the New York Medical College in 1990 and completed a residency in internal medicine at Framingham Union Hospital in 1994. Thereafter, he completed a second residency in anesthesia and critical care at Johns Hopkins Medical Center in 2000. Concluding his medical training, Dr. John undertook a fellowship in cardiac anesthesia at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2001.
