In addition to her role at the Bio-Behavioral Institute, Dr. Neziroglu has been a clinical assistant professor at the Donald & Barbara Zucker School of Medicine and a professor at Hofstra Medical School since 2009. She earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in psychology from Hofstra University, completing her doctorate in 1977. Her academic achievements are complemented by her board certification as a specialist in cognitive and behavioral psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology Foundation, obtained in 1998.

Dr. Neziroglu's passion for psychology was ignited at a young age, influenced by her father, who was a psychiatrist. Growing up on the grounds of Hudson River State Hospital in Poughkeepsie further fueled her interest in mental health. Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Neziroglu is actively involved with several civic-minded organizations. She serves on the advisory board of the International Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation and is the board president of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder New York.
