PHILADELPHIA, MS, February 20, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Charles "Chuck" M. Coleman Sr. has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
For more than 35 years, Mr. Coleman has been employed by Wells Lamont, beginning as a yarn manager between 1995 and 2005 and now as a special projects engineer. Specializing in custom building and modifying textile machinery and cutting equipment, his work directly impacts the company's ability to make exceptional and necessary products.
Initially established as The Wells Glove Company in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the century-old company is now based in Skokie, Illinois. Wells Lamont began by building gloves. Over time, the textile plant began producing other cut-resistant products for hand and arm protection for industrial applications for individuals in the meat processing, glass handling, sheath metal, and steel work industries. Mr. Coleman was instrumental in establishing the company's sleeve unit, where employees knitted sleeves. Today, the company has sophisticated knitting machines that have been heavily modified to incorporate yarn with a fill that contains fiberglass. Their products can be purchased in major retailers, including Walmart, Lowes Home Improvement, Dick's Sporting Goods, ACE Hardware, Costco, and many other local stores nationwide.
Throughout his career in the industry, much of the equipment Mr. Coleman has built was done from scratch. He also notably made a machine that cuts Kevlar tubing. Fortunate for his success, he has been guided by great mentors who have shared their knowledge. He has also had the opportunity to travel to other sites to see how other machinery works.
During an earlier stage of his career, Mr. Coleman worked for a waste care garage, making frames for racecars. While in high school, he also learned to build engines. Garnering much exposure to mechanics while coming of age, his father built and raced cars in the early 1960s, and he spent a lot of time watching him.
Giving back his time and expertise, Mr. Coleman frequently teaches the youth about textiles and chemistry as a leader for his local Boy Scouts of America group. He also conducts plant tours for the local school system and hosts job fairs.
Mr. Coleman completed programmable logic controller training at the University of Tennessee and management coursework at East Central Community College. He also completed drafting and design engineering technologies and technician training at the Anderson County Center for Occupational Development.
