SEATTLE, WA, February 20, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- John Fluke, BSEE, MSEE, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Fluke has made significant contributions throughout his professional career. Mr. Fluke continues to serve as Chairman of Fluke Capital Management, LP, a position in which he has served since 1978.

Mr. Fluke earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington in 1964 and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University College of Engineering in 1966. FLUKE Corporation was founded in 1948, completed an initial public offer in 1959 and was NYSE-listed in 1978 (trading symbol FLK). Mr. Fluke joined FLUKE Corporation in 1966 as an associate design engineer in product design engineering, served in various middle management positions and was appointed Fluke Corporation's Vice-Chairman in 1978 and Chief Executive Officer in 1983.

FLUKE Corporation grew to $450 million in annual sales in 1998 when the company was acquired by Danaher Corporation (NYSE symbol DHR, 1997 annual revenues: $2 billion dollars) in Danaher's first stock-for-stock acquisition.

Mr. Fluke's corporate governance experience includes independent director positions on the boards of PACCAR Inc (1984-2015, NASDAQ symbol PCAR); Peoples National Bank (2004-1998, NASDAQ symbol PNB); American Seafoods Group (2002-2006, Private Equity-backed); and PRIMUS International (2003-2006, Private Equity-backed).

In 1982, Mr. Fluke founded FLUKE Venture Partners, the Fluke family's captive venture capital fund, which provided equity funding for 120 emerging companies over the following two decades. Through 2004, three quarters of those companies yielded high single-digit IRR's (internal rates of return), several of the companies yielded double digit IRR's and, in one case, an IRR of 100 was realized. The remaining quarter were partial or total losses of invested capital.

Over the most recent two decades, Mr. Fluke's angel investing and senior business advisory experiences includes Abacast, Inc. (2003-2012); Precision Genome Engineering Inc. (2010-2014); Athira Pharma, Inc. (2014-present, NASDAQ symbol ATHA); Matchstick Technologies, Inc. (2015-present); Reedholm Systems Corporation (2015-present, closely-held operating-stage); Pluristyx, Inc. (2018-present, closely-held development-stage).

In parallel with Mr. Fluke's business career, he also followed his father's philosophy that, among other principles, embraced philanthropic service to the communities in which FLUKE Corporation's employees lived and raise their families. Accordingly, Mr. Fluke has served as a trustee in selected nonprofit organizations, including the Seattle Symphony Board of Trustees (1981- 1988); Museum of Flight (1987-2019, trustee emeritus 2019-present); Washington Technology Center (1983-1986); Seattle Council, Boy Scouts of America (1984-1989); Washington State Higher Education Coordinating Board (1986-1990); Washington State China Relations Council (1984-1987); National Association of Manufacturers National Executive Committee (1986-1991); American Electronics Association National Executive Committee (1984-1990); Puget Sound Board of Trustees (1987-2005); University of Washington College of Engineering Visiting Committee (1983-2004); Stanford University Engineering Advisory Board (1986-1990); University of Washington Foster School of Business Advisory Board (1993-2006); University of Washington Applied Physics Laboratory Advisory Council (1995-2017).
