Leveraging years of success in strategic business growth, risk management, and the transformations of several organizations throughout his career. Dr. Kitson served as an executive vice president and Chief Technology Officer at the California-based company, DTS/Xperi Inc., from 2010 to 2017. He remained with them into 2017 as a strategic advisor. While at Xperi Inc., Dr. Kitson played a pivotal role in expanding the company's revenue from $50 million to $300 million, mainly due to his foresight in implementing 3D audio technology in gaming headphones, mobile phones, and cinema.

Among other noteworthy roles. Dr. Kitson was a corporate vice president at Motorola Mobility LLC between 2005 and 2010, where he oversaw all corporate research and development, led various corporate initiatives and contributed to advancements in mobile phones, government/public safety technologies and home multimedia systems. Dr. Kitson's earlier career included significant roles at Hewlett-Packard, here he served as the director of Mobile and Media systems Laboratory from 1992 to 2000 and then as the senior director of corporate research and development until 2005.

In addition to his professional roles, Dr. Kitson has been involved in academia as adjunct faculty at several prestigious institutions, including University of Utah (Clyde Chair Visiting Professor), Colorado State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of California Berkeley, and Santa Clara University. He has also contributed to various publications. such as --Mobile TV: Customizing Content and Experience:· and articles on mobile media and security issues.

Dr. Kitson's educational background laid a strong foundation for his successful career. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the University of Delaware in 1974, a master's degree in electrical and computer engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1975. and a Doctor of Philosophy in digital signal processing from the University of Colorado Boulder in 1981. He further enhanced his strategic acumen through executive programs at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the school of business at Stanford University.

Throughout his career. Dr. Kitson's expertise in digital signal processing and multimedia technologies has been recognized through numerous patents. including those for digital rights management and face and environment sensing watches. These innovations have had a lasting impact on consumer devices such as watches and phones. Dr. Kitson's accomplishments have also been recognized with several awards, including the Distinguished Achievement Award from the University of Delaware in 2013.
