Dr. Higgs has dedicated 45 years to his profession, primarily serving as a minister with KOKEM for the past 25 years. His ministry, co-founded with his wife, Tammy, is a testament to his commitment to sharing faith and love. Dr. Higgs' journey in ministry is complemented by his work as a freelance voice-over artist, where he lends his voice to various projects as needed.

Before his current roles, Dr. Higgs had an extensive career in broadcasting. He served as the program director at WWRL for more than 15 years, where he honed his skills in radio management and programming. His passion for radio began earlier in his career when he worked at several stations, including WYLD AM/FM in New Orleans, Louisiana; WIGO AM in Atlanta, Georgia; and WTHO in Hampton, Georgia. His dedication to the field was recognized when he was named Radio Personality of the Year by the Gospel Academy Awards in 1984 and 1985.

In addition to his broadcasting achievements, Dr. Higgs has been a martial arts instructor for more than 40 years. He holds a PhD in Martial Arts Philosophy from the College of Advanced Martial Arts Education in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which he earned in 1999. His expertise in martial arts is further acknowledged by his induction into the Martial Arts Hall of Fame that same year. He also serves on the board of directors for the USA International Martial Arts Association and is a second-degree Reiki instructor.

Dr. Higgs' academic background includes a Doctorate in Divinity from the American Institute of Holistic Theology in 1997, a PhD in naturalogy science from the same institution in 1998, and a master's degree in chaplaincy from Tripp Bible Institute in Marion, NC in 2016. These academic achievements have provided him with a strong foundation for both his ministry work and his holistic approach to life.

Throughout his career, Dr. Higgs has been involved in various projects and publications, including a dissertation on martial arts that reflects his deep understanding and passion for the discipline. His contributions to both radio and martial arts have been recognized with numerous awards and honors.

Dr. Higgs credits his success to his faith. He believes that the things he has asked of the Lord have been granted, and he feels blessed to have achieved success in both his professional and personal lives. In addition to his current ministry and voice-over work, his diverse life experiences include participating in the 2000 Olympics—winning two gold medals—and playing a season of semi-professional football with the Rockland Warriors in Rockland County, New York.

Born in New York, Dr. Higgs has lived a life deeply rooted in family values and community service. He enjoys spending time with his children and engaging in activities such as Reiki therapy, playing football, swimming and serving communities. Following in the footsteps of his father, who was also a bishop, Dr. Higgs continues to share the love of Jesus through his ministry work while maintaining a strong interest in helping others.
