As a certified clinical hypnotherapist, she specializes in assisting those experiencing post-traumatic stress, anger and depression. Her approach is deeply rooted in her Christian faith, which guides her commitment to helping others.

Before pivoting to work as a counselor and business owner, Dr. Tapia served as an officer with the New York Police Department from 1999 to 2008. Graduating from the Police Academy was a significant milestone for her, fulfilling a long-held dream and allowing her to make a tangible difference in people's lives. Her time as a police officer was both challenging and rewarding, providing her with invaluable experience that she later applied to her counseling practice.

In addition to her professional roles, Dr. Tapia is an active member of several industry-related organizations. She is affiliated with the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) International Association, the International Reciprocity Board of Therapeutic Professional Counselors and the International Association of Interpersonal Hypnotherapists.

Dr. Tapia's equally storied academic journey is marked by notable achievements. She earned a Doctor of Philosophy in counseling and theo-therapy systemic therapy from Ecotheos University in 2021, graduating summa cum laude. Prior to this, she completed a master's degree in philosophy and counseling in 2020 as well as coursework at the Police Academy from 1999 to 2000.

To augment her knowledge and qualifications, Dr. Tapia holds certifications as a hypnotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist from the Institute of Hypnotherapy and received a therapeutic family counselor III designation from the International Reciprocity Board of Therapeutic Professional Counselors in 2021. Additionally, she has been certified in EMDR therapy for children, adolescents and adults since 2019.

Known for her contributions as a civic-minded citizen, Dr. Tapia volunteers with Paradise Community Church as well as women's groups and bible studies. She also sponsors the annual Dance Your Dream event for Hope Services and engages in various fundraising activities. Her dedication to serving others has been recognized with awards such as Cop of the Month during her tenure with the NYPD, and Best of Florida in Family Counseling Services from 2023 through 2024.

Born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Dr. Tapia moved to the United States at age 16 and became the first in her family to graduate high school. This achievement marked the beginning of her journey toward building a better future for herself and her family. Despite serving a rewarding tenure as a police officer, she decided to pursue a path in counseling after seeing how the trauma she experienced after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, also affected her son. Outside of her career, she enjoys traveling, singing karaoke, spending quality time with her family and reading Christian books as well as psychological books and biographies.

Looking to the future, Dr. Tapia aims to grow Community Family Counseling by incorporating more counselors with different areas of expertise to better assist those in need. Additionally, she wants to pursue further training and build a network of professionals to foster collaboration among her staff members, ultimately enhancing the services offered to clients.
