Aaron is a distinguished professional in applied research and behavioral science. In this career, he leverages research to improve social impact programs and real-world products. He currently helps Google improve users' experience across Google's platforms and as a staff user experience researcher. In this role, he collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate user insights into product development and design processes, focusing on Chrome browser privacy and modernizing the open web. Previously, Aaron was a mixed methods UX researcher at Meta from 2020 to 2022. During this period, he played a significant role in launching and improving the program at Meta's independent Oversight Board, enhancing access to justice through innovative systems that clarified application processes and provided helpful information to users.

Prior to engaging digital challenges, Aaron was the director of social and behavioral science at Democracy International – an organization implementing programs to strengthen democracy, human rights, and governance across the Global South – and a "Democracy Fellow" in comparative politics and democratization at the U.S. Agency for International Development. Aaron's work at USAID earned him a Meritorious Honor Group Award in 2016.

Broadly educated, Aaron holds a BA in history and Italian from the University of Pittsburgh, an MA in international relations from Seton Hall University, and earned his PhD in comparative politics and mass political behavior from the University of Pittsburgh in 2013.

Aaron dedicates free time to mentoring young social scientists and asprining researchers across the country and helping professionals to jump between academia, government, and private sector roles. Newly returned to his home town, Buffalo, NY, Aaron plans to support young people exploring careers in research and technology within the city's growing startup community.

He attributes his success to the support of his family and professional mentors who have guided him throughout his career.
