Ms. Powell has established a distinguished career in the fields of troubleshooting and project management, showcasing her expertise over several decades. As the president of PJW Enterprises Inc. since 1977, she has led the company with a focus on innovation and excellence. Her leadership has been instrumental in shaping the company's success and reputation in the industry.

In addition to running PJW Enterprises, Ms. Powell co-hosted and produced "Mountain Money" and "Community Voices" on KPCW Radio from 2010 to 2012, where she also served as a guest host for "The Local View." Her involvement in media extended to co-writing for "Follies" at the Egyptian Theatre from 2005 until 2008. In the late 1990s, she worked as a consultant and technical writer for Resources Connection, contributing to the field during the critical Y2K period. Her book "Power Your Way Thru Y2K" was recognized as essential reading for small and medium-sized businesses by a leading Y2K website.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Powell served as an interim information technology financial liaison at Spelling Entertainment between 1989 and 1991 and instructed at the Computer Learning Center in 1987. She was a senior consultant at Richard J. Yost Associates from 1986 to 1987 and directed information systems at NorthWest Quadrant from 1985 until 1986. Previously, she gained experience as an independent professional consultant between 1972 and 1976 and as a management advisory services consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1969 to 1972, during which time she notably became the first woman from the firm to work on a project in Mexico.

Prior to joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ms. Powell served as a computer programmer in computer systems and software development from 1968 until 1969. She began her professional journey at IBM, honing her skills in information technology as a systems programmer from 1967 to 1968. Throughout her career, she has worked alongside individuals all focused on creating positive change, which has allowed her to make a meaningful impact on society.

Laying the groundwork for Ms. Powell's professional accomplishments was her educational background. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Southern California in 1967, followed by a Master of Fine Arts in professional writing from the same institution in 1983. Her academic feats have been pivotal in her ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, as demonstrated by her technical writing endeavors. She attributes her success to taking responsibility and putting in effort, principles that have guided her throughout her career.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Powell is actively involved with several industry-related organizations, including the Authors Guild, the Society for Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and Willamette Writers. Her commitment to civic engagement is reflected in her role as a Sunday school teacher, where she contributes to her community through education and mentorship.

Looking ahead, Ms. Powell is currently working on her memoir, which will be divided into three parts. The third part will focus on her business experiences and share valuable lessons she has learned along the way, such as knowing when to speak up or hold back in professional settings, being attentive to detail, directly confronting challenges and effectively utilizing small increments of time for planning and preparation.
