ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ, February 27, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Kevin Sacco has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Sacco has established a distinguished career in education and leadership, currently serving as the president of St. Thomas Aquinas High School since 2024. In this role, he is responsible for overseeing the school's mission, vision and budgetary concerns, ensuring that these elements are seamlessly integrated into the daily operations of the institution. With several years of experience in his profession and through a life devoted to service, he has demonstrated expertise in secondary education and leadership.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Sacco served as an assistant principal for the New York City Department of Education between 2020 and 2024. During this time, he played a pivotal role in shaping educational policies and supporting faculty and students. From 2018 to 2020, he was the English as a new language (ENL) coordinator at the same department, where he focused on developing programs for ENL students.
Further exemplifying Mr. Sacco's commitment to education was the time he spent teaching adults ENL from 2016 until 2017 and serving as a high school ENL teacher between 2014 and 2024. Earlier in his career, he worked as an elementary school teacher and substitute teacher in 2014 and was self-employed as a Latin and ESL tutor from 2008 to 2015.
Before embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Sacco served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1999 until 2007, during Operation Iraqi Freedom. This experience profoundly influenced his understanding of responsibility and leadership, shaping many of his subsequent decisions. He considers his military service one of his most significant accomplishments.
In addition to his professional roles, Mr. Sacco is actively involved in several industry-related organizations, including the Golden Key International Honor Society, the Disabled American Veterans, the Knights of Columbus and the Association for Linguistics in the United States. He is also recognized as a Pat Tillman Foundation Scholar, highlighting his dedication to leadership and service.
Instrumental in Mr. Sacco's success was his academic background, which began with coursework in ancient history and archeology at Florence University of the Arts and in advanced Latin at the CUNY Graduate Center Latin/Greek Institute in 2008. He then furthered his education with a Bachelor of Arts in classical Latin and Greek philology from Brooklyn College in 2009. He subsequently earned a Master of Philosophy in Latin paleography and Greek New Testament from Trinity College Dublin in 2011, followed by a Master of Arts in teaching English to speakers of other languages and applied linguistics from Columbia University in 2014. His numerous certifications include a Certification of Readiness in Business Administration and Management from Harvard Business School Online (2024) and a Post-Master's Certification in Education Leadership from the College of Staten Island (2019), among others.
Reflecting on his career, Mr. Sacco attributes his success to resilience and perseverance, often quoting Winston Churchill's definition of success as going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm. This mindset has helped him remain determined throughout his career, even when faced with challenges or setbacks.
Looking ahead, Mr. Sacco is committed to expanding and elevating various programs within his organization, focusing on developing career-oriented professional programs in fields such as law enforcement, nursing and medical technology. Through these initiatives, he aims to provide students with both hands-on and theoretical experiences, enabling them to explore and eventually pursue these professions as adults.
