Mr. Carrube has dedicated over three decades to the field of labor unionism, establishing himself as a prominent figure in the transportation sector. As president of the Subway-Surface Supervisors Association since 2015, he oversees a team of 42 elected officers and 15 hired staff, manages the organization's operations, negotiates contracts and acts as an organizer for integrating new groups into the union. His leadership has been marked by his reelection by acclamation for another five-year term, underscoring his commitment to the association and its members.

In 2018, Mr. Carrube founded the National Association of Transportation Supervisors, where he serves as international president. This role allows him to engage with local presidents on an international level, addressing their concerns and providing assistance. His innovative approach to labor organization distinguishes him within the global business and labor movement. In addition to these roles, he has been the owner of Metro-City Safety LCC. in New York City since 2009, where he applies his expertise in construction safety and high-rise construction.

Mr. Carrube's career began in 1989 as a train conductor with the New York City Transit Authority. He later became acting vice president of Transport Workers' Union Local 100 in New York City before returning to his conductor role in 2003. From 2007 to 2010, he served as a supervisor and assistant train dispatcher at the New York City Transit Authority. His extensive experience within the transit authority spans 35 years, culminating in his current leadership positions.

His educational background includes several certifications that have bolstered his professional journey. These include a site safety manager certification from the New York City Department of Buildings, a construction fire safety manager certification from the New York City Fire Department, a construction superintendent certification and an OSHA trainer certification from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Mr. Carrube attributes his success to his aggressive approach, refusal to accept no for an answer and belief in finding solutions—qualities that have propelled him to his current status.

Mr. Carrube's contributions have been recognized through numerous awards, such as being named in the Transportation Power 100 by City & State New York from 2022 to 2024 and Labor Power 100 from 2021 to 2024. Additionally, Schneps Media honored him with accolades including Power Players in Transportation in 2024 and Labor Power Players in 2023, along with the Leaders of Labor Award in 2023.

Mr. Carrube grew up in Brooklyn, where his father worked for the city and most of his family was in the union. He knew that he wanted to help people and employees, and so he decided to pursue a career dedicated to promoting labor as a whole. He believes that anyone who can join a union should consider it for their own benefit.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Carrube enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and visiting his vacation home on weekends with his wife. He also finds solace in painting during his leisure time. Looking ahead, he envisions a future where labor unions are stronger and more involved in politics, advocating for increased collaboration between employees and employers within labor unions.
