From 2018 to 2020, he served as a project manager for T&D EPC at Burns & McDonnell, where he further developed his project management acumen in the transmission and distribution sector.

Mr. Farooqui's career trajectory includes significant experience as a senior project manager in the electrification products distribution solutions division at ABB from 2013 to 2018. Before this period, he was recognized with the Associates Choice Awards for Most Significant Team Achievement of the Year by Georgia Transmission Corporation in 2012. His earlier roles include electrical engineer at Georgia Transmission Corporation from 2011 to 2013 and electrical design engineer and DOE project lead at Power Partners Inc. from 2006 to 2010. He began his career as an engineering consultant at New Energy Associates LLC in 2001 after working as a consultant at Sysorex Consulting, Inc. from 2002 to 2006.

Mr. Farooqui's academic background laid a strong foundation for his professional achievements. He earned a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in 2000, following a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the same institution in 1999. His education has been instrumental in his ability to navigate complex engineering challenges and excel in various roles throughout his career. Additionally, he holds a Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute, underscoring his commitment to excellence in project management. In the energy field, Mr. Farooqui has worked as a consultant, an engineer, a project manager, a business development manager, and a director, from low voltage applications and power electronics all the way to high voltage Transmission and Distribution.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Farooqui is actively involved in civic-minded organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Islamic Relief Worldwide and his local mosque, where he donates and volunteers his time. These activities reflect his dedication to giving back to the community and making a positive impact beyond his industry contributions.

Born in Riyadh, Mr. Farooqui attributes much of his success to the sacrifices made by his parents (Dr. Zakia Farooqui and Dr. Mohammad Yahya Farooqui) for him and his siblings. This familial support, especially his parents' continuous sacrifices for him, has been a driving force behind his accomplishments and continues to inspire him as he balances a successful career with personal commitments. He highlights his wife, Amber Shahid Paul, being the bedrock from which he has been able to attain his accomplishments. Outside of work, he enjoys fitness activities and spending quality time with his three children, Alina, Adam, and Aliyaan.
