Dr. Cook is a dedicated veterinarian at Zion Veterinary Hospital in Hurricane, Utah, where he has been serving since 2024. In his role, he oversees room appointments three days a week in addition to his surgical days and emphatically educates owners on the care of their animals. His expertise in orthopedics, surgery, animal handling and client education has made him a respected figure in his field.

Prior to reaching his current position at Zion, Dr. Cook was a veterinary medicine student at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, from 2020 to 2024. During this time, he also served as president and treasurer of the National Veterinary Business Management Association, showcasing his leadership skills and commitment to the veterinary profession.

Before pursuing veterinary medicine, Dr. Cook worked with the Department of Natural Resources for the state of Utah and is heavily involved with wildlife conservation. He was also a staff member at Utah's Hogle Zoo. These roles provided him with valuable experience in animal care and conservation, further fueling his passion for working with animals. His journey into veterinary medicine was influenced by his upbringing and love for animals, which began in his childhood when he would bring home various wild creatures. Although he initially considered a career in business management due to his father's influence as an accountant, multiple career tests and suggestions from a close friend put him on the veterinary path, leading him to pursue his true calling.

Dr. Cook's academic background includes a doctor's degree in veterinary medicine from Western University of Health Sciences, completed in 2024, and a bachelor's degree in biology from Utah Valley University, earned in 2019. Along with his education, he attributes much of his success to the work ethic instilled by his parents, who encouraged him to follow his passions and work diligently toward his goals.

In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Cook has been actively involved in civic organizations and mentorship programs. He completed a two-year church service mission in Brazil with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he became fluent in Portuguese and gained proficiency in Spanish. He also mentors high school students, sharing his knowledge and experiences to inspire the next generation.

Dr. Cook's dedication to excellence has seen him recognized with several awards throughout his career, including the Honors Portfolio from the Veterinary Business Management Association, the Merck Animal Health Veterinary Student Scholarship from Merck & Co. Inc., the East-West Scholarship, the Veterinary Insurance Services Co Scholarship, the CVMA Award for Practice Excellence Scholarship, the Cottonwood Veterinary Clinic Scholarship, and the AFMV/Merck Animal Health Scholarship.

He has also contributed to significant research projects within the veterinary program at Utah State University, furthering advancements in animal health and care.

Born in Provo, Dr. Cook is the proud father of three daughters and enjoys hiking, fishing, camping and hunting with his family. Looking to the future, he intends to establish his own veterinary practice that will collaborate with professional and local communities while serving as a teaching facility for veterinary students to learn about various animals.
