Mr. Watts is a distinguished culinary teacher for the Ozark School District, where he has been imparting his expertise in culinary arts since 2022. With a focus on teaching a variety of culinary subjects, he covers everything from introductory classes on food preparation and safety to advanced culinary techniques. His dedication to education is exemplified by his ability to inspire students, as evidenced by a senior student who initially expressed her disinterest in school but later credited her continued attendance and newfound love for the subject to Mr. Watts' teaching.

Before joining the Ozark School District, Mr. Watts served as the district director of nutrition service at Sparta R-III School District from 2018 to 2022. During this time, he also worked as a high school and middle school substitute teacher from 2016 to 2022, showcasing his versatility and commitment to education. Prior to his roles in education, he gained valuable experience in the private sector as a receiver and customer service associate at Lowe's in 2015 and as an hourly manager at Mission BBQ from 2014 to 2015.

Mr. Watts' career began with an impressive tenure in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 20 years. He held positions as an airborne mission system specialist from 2002 to 2015, a radio operator from 1999 to 2002, and a weapons system specialist on the F-15E from 1995-1999. His military service was marked by numerous accolades, including NCO of the Quarter, Base Honorguard Member of the Quarter, Flight Crew of the Quarter and Flight Crew of the Year awards.

In addition to his professional roles, Mr. Watts co-owns Off the Rails Bakery, further demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit and passion for the culinary arts. He is also an active member of the American Culinary Federation, which underscores his commitment to maintaining high standards in his field.

Mr. Watts' educational background is extensive and diverse. He earned a Master of Professional Studies in food business from the Culinary Institute of America in 2022, an Associate of Science in culinary science with honors from Ozarks Technical Community College in 2019 and a Bachelor of Science in hospitality management with a focus on restaurant management from The Art Institutes with honors in 2014. Additionally, he holds two associate degrees from Air University-Community College of the Air Force: one in information systems technology and another in aircraft armament systems technology, both obtained in 2007.

His certifications include being a Certified Culinarian through the American Culinary Federation since 2019 and holding a ServSafe Manager Certification since 2013. Mr. Watts attributes much of his success to his upbringing, crediting his parents for instilling values of integrity and ethical behavior that have guided him throughout his career.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Watts has been involved in civic activities such as coaching a girls' softball team in Lusby, Maryland, from 2009 to 2015. He is also dedicated to his family life with his spouse and their two children.

Looking ahead, Mr. Watts aims to earn his Certified Culinary Educator credential through the American Culinary Federation. He is also developing a program designed to ensure that his students graduate work-ready with a Certified Fundamentals Cook certification from the same organization. This initiative will help students secure entry-level positions in prestigious restaurants locally and globally. Through these efforts, he continues to inspire his students to reach their full potential both personally and professionally.
