MIAMI, FL, March 07, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Manuel J. Rodriguez has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
A distinguished professional engineer with expertise in electric power, Mr. Rodriguez has made significant contributions to the field of electric utility engineering over his extensive career. Drawing on nearly 50 years of experience, he is the founder and president of Rodtec Engineering Services Inc., a strategic consulting firm specializing in facilitating negotiations between developers and local electric utilities.
Prior to establishing Rodtec Engineering Services Inc. in 2013, Mr. Rodriguez dedicated 45 years to Florida Power & Light (FPL), where he held roles in engineering and government relations from 1968 to 2013. His tenure at FPL was marked by significant achievements that contributed to the development and efficiency of South Florida's electric utility infrastructure. Additionally, his work at the utility company earned him recognition as Engineer of the Year by the Association of Cuban Engineers in 1982, underscoring his impact on the industry.
Mr. Rodriguez's educational background laid a strong foundation for his successful career. He earned a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Miami in 1968, followed by a Master of Business Administration from Florida International University in 1980. In 1993, he completed an Executive Program in Business Administration at Columbia University Graduate School of Business. In addition to his formal schooling, he holds a certification as a professional engineer from the Board of Professional Engineers State of Florida, obtained in 1973.
Born in Cuba, Mr. Rodriguez's passion for engineering was ignited during his childhood when he read about the construction of the Panama Canal, leading him to pursue a career in electrical engineering after discovering opportunities at NASA's Kennedy Space Center. He immigrated to the United States in 1961 and served in the Army in 1962, experiences that shaped his resilience and commitment to excellence. He attributes much of his success to his parents; his mother, who earned a doctorate in education, nurtured his intellectual curiosity, while his father, a successful businessman, taught him the importance of building relationships.
Beyond his professional life, Mr. Rodriguez has been actively involved in civic organizations and has received numerous accolades for his community contributions. He served as chairman of the board for the Miami Dade County Fair and Exposition from 2010 to 2012 and remains involved with the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair and Theodore R. Gibson Memorial Fund. His dedication to community service has been recognized with awards such as the Henry M.
