Dr. Carbajal-Alatorre is a distinguished organizational consultant and professor with a career spanning three decades. Her expertise in leadership, education and organizational development within multicultural environments has earned her recognition and respect in her field. Dr. Carbajal-Alatorre's journey began when she was awarded a fellowship from National University. This is where she commenced her career in higher education as an assistant professor in the fields of business management, psychology, sociology and leadership from 1993 to 2004. Dr. Carbajal-Alatorre went on to teach at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, where she was a professor from 2005 to 2024. She helped to build the Bachelor's Degree in Business Management.

In addition to teaching at FIDM, Dr. Carbajal-Alatorre served as a client partner at Newleaf Training and Development from 2006 to 2011, where she collaborated with organizations to enhance employee performance through tailored training solutions, such as seminars and in-person and online coaching. Concurrently, she served as an educational consultant for FranklinCovey between 2006 and 2018, where she focused on delivering leadership programs for educators.

Dr. Carbajal-Alatorre's academic achievements have been instrumental in her professional success. Her undergraduate studies culminated in a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, sociology and human services, from Western New Mexico University, with Honors, in 1987. She also obtained a Master of Arts in organizational psychology and a Doctor of Philosophy in organizational psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (now Alliant International University) in 1991 and 1995, respectively. Additionally, Dr. Carbajal-Alatorre holds a practitioner license for the Myers-Briggs Inventory, which complements her work in organizational consulting.

Beyond academia, Dr. Carbajal-Alatorre's civic engagement and mentorship include volunteering with organizations such as the Center for Assault Treatment Services. Dr. Carbajal-Alatorre and her husband have been volunteers for CATS annual Victory4Victims Run/Walk for 21 years. She has mentored young women through the Santa Clara Valley California Scholarship Pageant. Moreover, as a keynote speaker at the LaTEENa Conference hosted by Adelante Mujer, Dr. Carbajal-Alatorre has shared her insights on leadership and empowerment.

Dr. Carbajal-Alatorre's dedication to education and leadership was acknowledged through Outstanding Faculty awards from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in 2010, 2015, and 2019. Her commitment to lifelong learning fuels her desire to continue working with clients and students to help them succeed across various domains.
