Ms. Lara is a distinguished professional with more than 20 years of experience in radiology and performance management. Currently, she serves as the manager of talent and workforce strategies at Harris Health System, a role she has held since 2024. In this capacity, she facilitates performance management and creates opportunities for staff members, demonstrating her commitment to fostering career satisfaction and overall well-being among her colleagues.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Lara was the senior human resources program manager for internal mobility at Harris Health System from 2023 to 2024. Her expertise in internal mobility was further honed during her tenure as a program manager in the same department for the preceding two years. She originally sought out these roles out of a desire to return to education and aid others in success, transitioning away from her previous positions as a technologist.

From 2017 to 2021, Ms. Lara served as the diagnostic medical imaging program director for radiography at Harris Health System. Before that, she held her first position in education as a radiology instructor and clinical coordinator for nine years, where she contributed significantly to the education and development of future health care professionals.

Ms. Lara's professional journey is complemented by her active involvement in industry-related organizations. She is a member of the House of Delegates for the American Society of Radiology Technologists and serves as a board member for the Texas Radiologic Society. Furthermore, she is committed to civic engagement, volunteering with the Houston Food Bank.

Serving as a foundation for her success, Ms. Lara holds a Master of Science in radiologic sciences of education and a Bachelor of Science in radiologic sciences, both from Midwestern State University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in executive education at Houston Christian University. In addition to her formal education, her certifications include graduate studies from the CITI Program, learning and development, HR technology and analytics, talent acquisition from McLean & Company, certification on behavior from the National Institute of Behavior and executive leader coach and mentor certification.

Ms. Lara attributes much of her success to the unwavering support of her family, which she considers essential to her well-being. Her personal life is enriched by her spouse, Rafael, and their three children. As an introvert, she also enjoys spending time with her two pugs, who help her recharge after long days. Furthermore, she gives credit to her mentors, coaches and colleagues who believed in her and encouraged her to reach for her goals.
