In preparation for her career achievements, Ms. Gopaul earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing, cum laude, at VCU School of Nursing in 2015 and a Master of Science in family nurse practitioner, cum laude, from Maryville University of Saint Louis in 2018. In addition to her degrees, she holds several certifications that underscore her dedication to health care excellence. Ms. Gopaul is a registered nurse through the Virginia Board of Nursing and a certified family nurse practitioner by the Virginia Department of Health. She is also certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation by the American Heart Association Inc. and ambulatory care nursing by the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing.

Ms. Gopaul is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy of Pain Medicine, reflecting her commitment to professional development and excellence in her field. Civically, her commitment to community service has been evident through her volunteer work with Shady Grove Baptist Church.

As an expert in her field, Ms. Gopaul co-authored "Acute Pain Management Essentials: An Interdisciplinary Approach" in 2022, showcasing her expertise and dedication to advancing pain management practices.
