Since 2023, he has directed all sales efforts and managed operations and administrative staff within the division, which is the first such business unit Shambaugh/Havel has developed. His role involves meeting with customers to enhance building efficiency, collaborating with technicians to troubleshoot issues, and working with account managers to develop tailored sales approaches. His expertise in mechanical chillers and leadership has been instrumental in building a large customer base for the chiller division, a career highlight he takes immense pride in.

Before his current position, Mr. Preston was a business consultant at Honeywell from 2018 to 2020, where he contributed significantly to the company's success. Prior to that, he served as an account executive at Daikin Applied from 2014 to 2018 and Comfort Systems USA from 2011 to 2014. His tenure at Comfort Systems USA also included a role as service manager from 2010 to 2011. Earlier in his career, he honed his skills at Turner Construction as a consultant from 2007 to 2009, senior financial analyst from 2005 to 2007 and senior project accountant from 2004 to 2005. He began his professional journey as a cash management officer at Fifth Third Bank from 2001 to 2004.

Mr. Preston's academic background laid a strong foundation for his career achievements. He earned a Master of Business Administration in applied management from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2008 and a Bachelor of Business Administration in management from the University of Saint Francis in 2001. His educational journey began with a diploma from North Side High School in 1992 and St. Jude Grade School in 1988. Influential leaders throughout his life, including his football coach Kevin Donnelly, have played a pivotal role in shaping his success. His early exposure to the mechanical field while working with his uncle at Shambaugh sparked his interest in construction and building systems.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Preston is actively involved in civic organizations and mentoring programs. He served as director of the University of Saint Francis Athletic Alumni Mentoring Program from 2011 to 2014 and has coached local football teams, including his son's teams at St. Louis de Montfort Church. His dedication to mentoring young athletes reflects his commitment to giving back to the community.

Mr. Preston's contributions have been recognized through various awards and honors. He was recently included in the Presidents Club at Honeywell Building Technologies for outstanding sales achievements. He was also inducted into the University of Saint Francis Athletic Hall of Fame in 1999 and received the Distinguished Young Alumni award from the same institution in 2003. Additionally, he was honored with the Anthony D. Moore Memorial Leadership Award in 2001 and was named Friend of the Festival by the Three Rivers Festival Board of Directors in 2000.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Preston enjoys spending time with his family, which includes one son and one daughter. An avid hunter, he relishes whitetail hunting in Indiana and has pursued game in Texas and Oregon, including an elk hunt in North Powder, Oregon. He also frequents the gym as part of his personal routine.
