GREENSBORO, NC, March 19, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Peter G. Lynch has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Lynch, an esteemed and highly sought-after expert in the advanced logistics of oversized and overweight shipments, has dedicated more than 25 years to his profession. Seeing that there was a need for a specialized approach to logistics, he created Specialized Freight Solutions in 2014 to fill that gap. He has been president of Specialized Freight Solutions since its inception. He has contributed to conducting detailed route surveys and performing feasibility studies to ensure the safe transport of specialized freight. His role involves collaborating with government agencies and stakeholders to secure necessary approvals and permits and negotiating temporary infrastructure improvements to accommodate these unique transportation needs. He also provides field support to the oversized shipments, providing height pole pilot car services, which includes working closely with bucket trucks and police escorts en route.

Before his current role, Mr. Lynch served as a freight operations program manager for WisDOT via an onsite contract through the University of Wisconsin's Traffic Operations and Safety Lab ("TOPS") from 2008 to 2014. His work with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation was pivotal in inspiring him to transition from government work to private business. After leading the creation and implementation of an innovative oversized and overweight freight network in Wisconsin, he knew that he could help solve problems for the industry across the country and decided to start his nationwide venture.

From 2003 to 2007, Mr. Lynch was a manager and senior policy analyst at a law firm and for a local government. His earlier career as a transportation planner with the Michigan Department of Transportation from 1998 to 2003 laid the foundation for his transportation planning and logistics expertise.

In addition to his achievements in the trucking and logistics sphere, Mr. Lynch is sought after by law firms for his expertise in cases involving permitted oversize, overweight trucks as well as pilot cars and escort vehicles. His history in this industry has made him a key resource in the legal community for these unique cases. His experience has helped those not familiar with the day-to-day operations of specialized logistics understand the roles and responsibilities of numerous participants, allowing the attorneys and courts to determine who is or is not responsible for each case.

Mr. Lynch's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning from Michigan State University, which he earned in 1998. Beyond his education, he attributes much of his success to his tireless work ethic, which his mother instilled in him during his upbringing.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Lynch is actively involved in civic organizations. He served as a planning commissioner for the Lake Mills Planning Commission. He served as liaison to the WisDOT Secretary of Transportation as AASHTO Chairman for the Subcommittee on Highway Transport (SCOHT), which helped the industry harmonize state-to-state regulations governing the oversized, overweight, specialized transportation industry. He helped the WisDOT secretary and the governor of Wisconsin create the Governor's Freight Industry Summit and Advisory Committee. He founded and chaired Wisconsin's Oversize and Overweight Subcommittee. He worked within the Department of Transportation and FHWA as a consultant on innovative intersection and interchange design solutions to avoid creating an impediment within the road network where there was not one before (roundabouts, single point urban or diverging diamond interchanges).

Outside of his logistics career, Mr. Lynch enjoys spending time with his family, doing home remodeling projects, attending his son's hockey games, traveling, sailing, and boating. In the upcoming years, he plans to remain committed to growing his business by finding the right clients and enhancing his ability to provide innovative, cost-effective solutions. He also aims to train others in this growing industry, emphasizing the importance of sharing knowledge gained from both the State Department of Transportation and the specialized trucking industry perspectives.
