Inspired by his personal experiences with lack of energy access and security in India, Mr. Castelino made it his life mission to make clean, reliable energy accessible for everyone. In 2010, he joined Bloom Energy, a green energy company with a mission that resonates with Mr. Castelino's passion.

Mr. Castelino, a distinguished expert in business and project development, currently serves as Managing Director at Bloom. Since stepping into his most recent role in 2022, he has been instrumental in identifying and establishing partnerships for waste to energy and carbon capture projects to enhance clean energy access. His leadership extends to developing innovative solutions for converting organic waste into electricity through high efficiency fuel cells and capturing the CO2 emissions to drive deep decarbonization. His role also involves navigating regulatory environments, and advocating for supportive policies to facilitate biogas and carbon capture projects.

His efforts have led to impactful projects utilizing fuel cells at dairy farms and landfills, turning organic waste into clean electricity. One of these projects, in Kerman, California, received recognition from numerous publications including a notable feature in the BBC's Humanizing Energy series.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Castelino was the company's director of structured finance. In this role, he developed a leasing program that allowed customers to make monthly payments for fuel cells rather than requiring an upfront purchase. This innovative approach enabled the company to sell over $1 billion in fuel cells within the initial years of his involvement and expanded the number of customers who could access this innovative technology.

Before joining Bloom Energy, Mr. Castelino was a consultant in business advisory services at Wipro Technologies from 2003 to 2009. He also co-founded a non-profit Power of We from 2005 to 2007 and served as a board member for SURGE, another non-profit focused on clean drinking water access, from 2008 to 2011. His commitment to advancing clean energy is further demonstrated by his seat on the Board of the American Biogas Council, the largest industry association for biogas.

Mr. Castelino earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business in 2011 and a Bachelor of Engineering in electronics and communication from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka in 2003. His academic achievements combined with his engineering and business education have been instrumental in his career success, providing him with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex landscape of clean energy development.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Castelino is actively involved in civic-minded organizations such as the Lions Club, 4-H, and his local church. In his personal life, he enjoys maintaining his farm and spending time with his wife, two children, and farm animals. Looking ahead, he aims to expand solutions and business models to achieve universal clean energy access.
