He holds a Bachelor of Arts in performance and technical theatre from Ball State University, where he also earned a Bachelor of Science in education with a focus on physical education, health and recreation. His master's coursework in astrophysics at the Harvard Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics and Framingham State University, and Astronomy at La Sierra University, reflects his diverse interests and intellectual curiosity. As a licensed teacher from Ball State University's Teachers College, Mr. Steele has leveraged his education to excel in various roles throughout his career. In addition to serving as the lead flight director for Challenger Learning Centers at science centers from 1997 to 2013 at Chabot Space & Science Center, Sacramento Science Museum, and the Challenger Learning Center in Toledo, Ohio, he was also a classroom teacher, an education consultant, and served as an aerospace education specialist for NASA.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. Steele has been actively involved with civic-minded organizations. His involvement with Rotary International and the Oregon-Northwood Rotary Club highlights his dedication to community service.

Throughout his career, Mr. Steele has achieved numerous accolades, including a Shining Star Award from the Challenger Center for Space Science Education and the Royalty Memorial Award for outstanding contributions to theatre from Ball State University. Furthermore, he was featured as the Entertainer of the Year by The Hollywood USO in 1990.

Mr. Steele envisions continuing his work at the Toledo Zoo's Aerial Adventure Zipline and Challenge Course, where he helps individuals overcome their fears.
