This governance team managed engagement and proxy voting activities for the companies in which BlackRock invests for clients through index-oriented products and strategies.

Before joining BlackRock, Mr. Cameron led corporate access at Stifel, Cowen, and Lehman/Barclays. His teams engaged with corporate suite executives and boards, offering insights on optimizing shareholder composition and identifying business opportunities.

Mr. Cameron began his Wall Street career at Morgan Stanley's institutional equity research sales desk. After working as a generalist, he transitioned to a technology specialist. He saw corporate access as a business opportunity and created Wall Street's first fully integrated corporate access team. He also built sector specialist teams to foster relationships with executives and corporate boards. Today, corporate access is a $1 billion industry among banks and investment firms, driven by commission allocations to Wall Street.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Mr. Cameron participates in civic organizations and is a board member for Scholars of Finance, an organization focused on leadership training and mentoring for future leaders in finance. He previously was the board chair at the Children's Storefront, leading its transition from a private school to a charter organization, Storefront Academy.
