Dr. Castro, a distinguished academic and business professional, has made significant contributions to the fields of management and mental health. As an associate professor Sr. at Miami Dade College since 2016, he has been instrumental in teaching the baccalaureate program, covering all classes in the supervision and management programs. He is responsible for instructing seven different classes and extends his expertise to other universities and colleges, such as Johnson & Wales University, Herzing University, MIU City University Miami, and Florida National University.

In addition to his academic endeavors, Dr. Castro serves as the vice president and general manager of operations at Mental Health of Miami Inc., a company he co-owns with his wife. Since its inception in 2016, the company has evolved from offering a range of services to focusing solely on mental health therapy. They recently transitioned to a fully virtual model in January 2024, employing state-licensed therapists and practicum students from renowned universities. Before entering the mental health field, he assisted immigrant children at a detention center, reuniting them with their family members in the United States.

Early in his professional journey, Dr. Castro contributed to several significant roles in the health care industry. From 2014 to 2016, he was the director of Medicaid operations at Preferred Medical Plan Inc. after serving as a customer relations manager at UnitedHealth Group for the preceding four years.

Dr. Castro's educational background is extensive and diverse, culminating in a Doctor of Business Administration in management and leadership from Argosy University in 2015. He also holds a Master of Business Administration with honors from Albizu University-Miami Campus, completed in 2012, where he received the MBA Student of the Year award from Albizu University in 2012. He also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in business administration from the same institution in 2010.

Complementing his formal education, Dr. Castro has received numerous certifications, including several related to early childhood education and health care management. He has significantly contributed to the industry through scholarly publications, such as articles on managing Generation Z and health care plan selection for Medicare beneficiaries. Most notably, he has authored "Facing Crossroads: Stay Motivated to Become Your Best Self," published by TriMark Press Inc. in 2022 and contributed to "No Room for Micromanagement in the 21st Century," published in the Global Journal of Management and Business Research in 2020.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Castro enjoys collecting Hot Wheels and sneakers, working on his classic cars, visiting movie theaters, and watching sports, such as football and basketball. He is also civically involved as a donor to Miami Dade College and a volunteer in his local community.

In the upcoming years, Dr. Castro aspires to retire and pursue personal projects that align with his passion for supporting businesses. One of his goals is to purchase a plaza with multiple units to rent out to businesses while providing free consultations on growth strategies. Overall, he attributes much of his professional success to his parents' decision to immigrate to the United States in search of better opportunities and his belief that anyone can achieve their goals despite negative influences. He also appreciates all of the support his wife has provided him throughout his career; without her, it would not be possible.
