TAMPA, FL, March 26, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Jack Kilbride, PE, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Mr. Kilbride, a distinguished expert in motor applications, automation engineering, programming machines and systems, and technical instruments, has made significant contributions to the field over his professional journey spanning several decades. He commenced his career at Dravo Corporation, now Carmeuse, where he served as a senior engineer from 1975 to 1985. During this time, he focused on large material-handling machines and systems supporting the coal and iron ore industries. Despite a secure position, the challenges faced by the steel industry prompted him to seek new opportunities.
In 1986, Mr. Kilbride joined National Gypsum Services Company as the manager of the engineering research team. Relocating to Tampa, he aimed to automate processes using the Tampa plant as a pilot facility. His tenure there lasted until 1988 when he transitioned to Reimelt Corporation, which later became Zeppelin Systems. During his career at Zeppelin Systems, which lasted more than 35 years, he advanced from a programmer focusing on automation to the manager of their automation group. He was eventually promoted to director of systems and automation and ultimately ascended to vice president of systems and automation before retiring in 2023.
Throughout his career at Zeppelin Systems, Mr. Kilbride managed operations in the United States while maintaining close ties with the main corporate office in Germany. He is particularly proud of fostering a family atmosphere within the company, supporting employees who often faced extensive travel demands. His belief that employees are the company's greatest asset underscored his commitment to creating a supportive work environment.
Laying a strong foundation for Mr. Kilbride's professional journey was his educational background, inclusive of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, which he earned in 1975. He is also registered as a Professional Engineer (PE), having passed the Principles and Practice of Engineering exam circa 1980. He attributes his success to his academic accomplishments and the mentorship he received from influential figures early in his career.
Further reflecting Mr. Kilbride's dedication to staying connected with industry advancements and contributing to professional communities have been his professional associations. These affiliations include a lifetime membership with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, as well as involvement with the Instrument Society of America and Rockwell Automation.
Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Kilbride has been actively involved in various civic-minded organizations. He has coached his children's sports teams and volunteered at his church and other organizations dedicated to youth charities. His participation in youth guidance programs and his support for grief organizations that help children further demonstrate his commitment to community service.
A classical singing enthusiast, Mr. Kilbride has performed with local opera companies and had the unique opportunity to be a backup singer for Andrea Bocelli on three occasions. Now fully retired and grateful for the experiences and relationships that have enriched his existence, he looks forward to living life to its fullest alongside his family and friends.
