Dr. Lopez has dedicated over four decades to the field of higher education, currently serving as an adjunct associate professor at Trinity University of Asia since 2022. Her passion for helping others has been evident through her commitment to education and community service throughout her career. Prior to her current role, she was an adjunct faculty member at the College of Southern Nevada from 1994 to 2015 while concurrently serving as a purchasing analyst and small business coordinator for the Clark County Government from 1994 to 2010.
Educationally, Dr. Lopez completed a Bachelor of Arts in English, followed by a Master of Arts in journalism from the University of North Texas. Her pursuit of knowledge culminated in her completing coursework for a Doctor of Education in education management from Trinity University of Asia. These academic achievements have been instrumental in her professional success, allowing her to cultivate a network that supports and enhances the potential of those around her.
In addition to her academic and professional accomplishments, Dr. Lopez is deeply involved in civic activities. She founded People First, a civic organization in the Philippines, her own country of origin, where she serves as president. This organization provides essential information services to local individuals and conducts monthly feeding programs. As part of her doctoral work, Dr. Lopez also established a relationship with the local elementary school, where she continues to volunteer, providing audiovisual devices for students and giving seminars for teachers.
Dr. Lopez's leadership extends to founding the Las Vegas Professional Lions Club in 2015, where she has served as charter president. Furthermore, she was a mentor at the Summer Business Institute with the Clark County Government.
Dr. Lopez's contributions have been recognized through numerous awards, such as the Excellence in Understanding the Impact of Nonverbal Communication from the Asian Congress for Media and Communication in Vietnam in 2004. She has also received the Minority Advocate of the Year from the U.S. Small Business Administration. In addition, Dr. Lopez was awarded the Gawad Kaagapay Outstanding Stakeholder Award by the Philippine Department of Education, was recognized as one of the Distinguished Men and Women of Southern Nevada, and received various certificates of appreciation from state and local governments in the U.S.
Beyond her professional life, Dr. Lopez enjoys spending time with her family, including her two children and four grandsons. She takes pride in balancing her career with her family life, which she considers one of her most notable achievements. Looking ahead, she aims to continue contributing positively to her community by empowering others to grow independently and make meaningful impacts themselves.
