He transitioned to EMJAY Engineering & Construction Company as a project manager from 2016 to 2018.

Subsequently, he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in building and construction site management from Strayer University in 2016, an Associate of Applied Science in construction management from the Community College of Baltimore County in 2018, and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in pre-law from the University of Baltimore in 2023. Additionally, Mr. Heffler received numerous certifications, further underscoring his project management expertise. These include stationary engineer certification from Maryland in 2015, AutoCAD certification in 2017, green energy certification from Skillsoft in 2017 and associate professional in human resources certification from the Society for Human Resources Management in 2018. Mr. Heffler also holds several other specialized HVAC systems and safety certifications.

Actively involved in professional memberships, Mr. Heffler is affiliated with the Associated Builders and Contractors, ABC Greater Baltimore, and the Young Leaders Committee. Civically, he has contributed to Operation Enduring Warrior, The Oscar Mike Foundation, the OM Foundation and Mountain Christian Church.
