Mr. Vega's career began at Citigroup Inc., where he worked as a portfolio manager from 1997 to 2007. During his tenure, he was integral to establishing Citigroup as a leading asset manager in Mexico through his innovative systems and processes. His contributions were so impactful that even after his departure, his methodologies continued to be utilized by his former colleagues. This experience laid a strong foundation for his subsequent roles at HSBC.

In addition to his primary professional achievements, Mr. Vega serves on the 40 Act Board and the board of directors for HSBC Asset Management.

Mr. Vega's academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in economics from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México in 1998 and a Master of Science in finance from the University of Essex in 2005. He also holds a diploma in derivatives securities from The London School of Economics and Political Science, obtained in 2005.
