He earned his high school diploma from the University of London and a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Subsequently, he pursued graduate studies and now holds a master's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee/Madison. He is also proud to have completed a PhD in comparative and international education with emphasis in cultural and educational leadership and policy studies from Loyola University Chicago in 2012. Additionally, Dr. Tamanji has secured certifications in teaching, real estate, and urban planning and development, which have enhanced his ability to contribute meaningfully to his profession.

Throughout his career, Dr. Tamanji has been actively involved in several industry-related organizations, including the Comparative and International Education Society Inc., Phi Delta Kappa International, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, president of Ozaukee County Branch #3266 from 2019 to 2021 with lifetime membership. His contributions to the planning profession as a member of the AICP were honored with a Recognition Award from the APA Wisconsin Chapter of the American Planning Association in 2024. He was featured in Who's Who Among America's Teachers in 1996.

His pedagogical academic and research areas include, but are not limited to, cross cultural communication, Afrocentrism, multiculturalism, and multidisciplinary and student-centered strategies. It is noteworthy that Dr. Tamanji earned a student success rate of 100% in the fall of 2024.

Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Tamanji is committed to giving back to society through his sponsorships with Goodwill and St. Vincent de Paul.

Dr. Tamanji attributes his success to his determination as a young child to develop himself through education, despite coming from a humble background. His stalwart trust in the power of the human spirit and abiding faith continue to encourage and guide him in both professional and personal pursuits.

To achieve balance, Dr. Tamanji indulges in his passion for soccer and prioritizes staying fit and creative cooking. He is devoted to his family, including his wife, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and their four children. His persistent belief in the power of education and spiritual guidance has been a driving force throughout his life, inspiring him to serve humanity and make meaningful contributions to society. Looking toward the future, Dr. Tamanji aspires to secure advisory board positions and speaking engagements, travel widely and pursue publishing objectives, and he will promote positive change through humanitarian efforts, contributing to a better world in any way he can. As a labor union economist, he held the position of secretary general of the American Federation of Teachers, Local 212 in 1995.
