Mr. Guerrero is an accomplished environmental health safety specialist at 3M, where he has been instrumental in helping research and development lab teams manage everyday operations. His responsibilities include reviewing safety protocols, identifying potential employee hazards, scaling processes, build capacity and ensuring code compliance. Mr. Guerrero also conducts team meetings to share best practices and is passionate about creating enthusiasm for following safety, health and environmental requirements across all organizational levels.

Having begun his career at 3M in 2010, Mr. Guerrero was a senior safety engineer and, over the years, held various other roles within the company, including environmental health and safety (EHS) technical service professional for Latin America from 2012 to 2016 and senior EHS engineer between 2016 and 2017. In 2018, he transitioned to the role of application engineer before becoming a regulatory affairs, training and education specialist in 2019. From 2020 to 2022, Mr. Guerrero excelled as an OSH standards and regulatory development specialist before assuming his current position.

Before joining 3M, Mr. Guerrero gained valuable experience at Amgen as an EHS graduate co-op and later as a HAZMAT contractor safety engineering associate at Amgen between 2008 and 2010. His early career included roles such as EHS administrator at Hitachi Automotive Products Inc. from 2007 to 2008 and general manager and owner of Natural Products SA in Peru between 2004 and 2006. Additionally, he was an associate professor in the food technology department at the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina in 2004.

Mr. Guerrero's academic journey began with a bachelor's degree in food engineering from the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina in Peru in 2002. Right after, he obtained and specialization certificate in quality management and environmental auditing in 2003 also at Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina. He later completed a master's degree in environmental and occupational health at California State University Northridge in 2009. He is now pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Safety Sciences at Indiana University of Pennsylvania with plans to return to academia at some point. Besides his degrees, Mr. Guerrero's certifications include being a certified safety professional from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (CSP), a certified industrial hygienist (CIH) from the American Industrial Hygiene Association and a registered environmental health specialist (REHS) from both the California and Minnesota Departments of Public Health. These credentials have been pivotal in his career success.

Actively involved with several industry-related organizations, Mr. Guerrero is notably a board member for the northwestern chapter of the American Industrial Hygiene Association. Recognizing his contributions to the field, the American Society of Safety Professionals named him Safety Professional of the Year in 2024.
