WORCESTER, VT, March 28, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Polly Young-Eisendrath has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Renowned for her expertise in relational and relationship dynamics, Dr. Young-Eisendrath is a prominent figure in the field of psychology. As the executive director and founder of the Center for Real Dialogue since 1996, she has dedicated her career to studying humanizing conflict and promoting dialogue therapy. Her work extends to teaching residents and supervising clinical training in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the University of Vermont, where she engages in public outreach and supports training programs to enrich communication and relational skills. She has also served as a professor at Bryn Mawr College, reflecting her long-term dedication to educating future generations of psychologists.
In addition to her role at the Center for Real Dialogue, Dr. Young-Eisendrath has been associated with the Institute for Dialogue Therapy as a chief psychologist and Jungian analyst since 1994. Her private practice, established in 1992, further underscores her commitment to integrating mindfulness into psychotherapy. Her unique approach blends depth psychology, mindfulness and human development, particularly in relationships focusing on attachment bonds. This integration is rooted in her early introduction to Zen Buddhism at age 22, which she has practiced throughout her life.
Before venturing onto her vocational path, Dr. Young-Eisendrath earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Ohio University, graduating summa cum laude in 1969. She then obtained a Master of Arts in psychology and mythology from Goddard College in 1974, followed by a Master of Social Work in 1977 and a PhD in developmental and counseling psychology in 1980, both from Washington University in St. Louis. Placing a deep value on her education, she credits much of her professional success to the outstanding teachers she encountered on her academic journey.
To stay aware of the latest developments in her field, Dr. Young-Eisendrath is affiliated with the International Association for Analytical Psychology — through which she is certified as a diplomate Jungian analyst — and the American Psychological Association. Her extensive contributions to psychoanalysis were recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Excellence in Psychoanalysis award from the Canadian Psychological Association in 2009.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Young-Eisendrath is a highly accomplished author of nearly 20 books about such topics as dialogue therapy, children's self-esteem in the modern age, gender psychology and spirituality. She has hosted two podcasts: "Enemies From War to Wisdom," which completed 50 episodes and ran from 2019 to 2023, and "Waking Up Is Not Enough," which began in 2023 and features in-depth conversations about compassion, resilience and the continued evolution that humans experience throughout their lives.
In her personal life, Dr. Young-Eisendrath enjoys spending quality time with her family, hiking, yoga and writing. She is currently working on a proposal for a new book titled "Real Dialogue," which aims to provide crucial guidelines for self-awareness and healthy conflict resolution. Looking to the future, she sees the Center for Real Dialogue as her legacy and hopes to help it succeed internationally by enhancing its website and building an online continuing education platform. Her goal is to contribute to peace efforts by helping divided couples and individuals learn effective communication strategies rather than resorting to violence.
