SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO, March 31, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Dr. Abdias Mendez Robles has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. A highly distinguished artist, author, critic, educator, consultant, and arts manager, Dr. Méndez Robles has dedicated nearly five decades to advancing the arts through various mediums. His career began at the age of 17 with his first professional art show, marking the beginning of a path that would establish him as a key figure in the Latin American and Caribbean art scene. In 1994, he introduced his own style, which has become his signature. Dr. Méndez Robles has held numerous influential positions, including the presidency of the Latin American and Caribbean Region of the International Association of Art in alliance with UNESCO (IAA/AIAP). In this role, he championed artists facing political, social and financial challenges, promoting communication and collaborative exhibition projects among the various countries affiliated with the IAA/AIAP.

Additionally, Dr. Méndez Robles held key leadership roles such as president of the Puerto Rico Plastic Artists Association, also affiliated with the IAA/AIAP, and president of the Puerto Rico chapter of the International Art Critics Association. For seven years, he served as president of the governing board at the School of Fine Arts and Design of Puerto Rico, becoming the first graduate to attain the highest position in the university. During his presidencies, he provided direction and guidance to his teams, which were especially crucial during difficult times, such as the devastating aftermath of Hurricane María, the economic crisis and the pandemic. During these periods, he ensured that the university focused on supporting students, enabling them to graduate and receive degrees and scholarships while significantly improving its reputation and accreditation. Additionally, he initiated international exhibition projects where artists could continue presenting their works. His efforts have positively impacted and supported numerous students and artists.

Dr. Méndez Robles' academic background is equally extensive and diverse. He holds a doctorate in naturopathy, a Master of Contemporary Arts from the University of Barcelona and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. He graduated magna cum laude from the School of Fine Arts and Design of Puerto Rico with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and received a bachelor's degree in finance and economics from Southern New Hampshire University. This multidisciplinary education has allowed him to combine his passion and vocation for art with other areas of knowledge, fostering significant growth and success in both fields.

Dr. Méndez Robles has dedicated part of his time to education, guiding aspiring students in the arts as a lecturer and professor, teaching art history and appreciation courses at the University of Puerto Rico, Carolina Campus, and offering private painting classes. In addition to his vast contributions to the art sector, he has over 35 years of experience in banking, economics and finance. He has focused on profitability, cost analysis and budgeting while developing workshops and conferences for banks and other organizations, including Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, Banco Santander, the Museum of Art of Puerto Rico and several nonprofits.

Dr. Méndez Robles' impactful contributions have been recognized by prestigious organizations throughout his career, including the Puerto Rico Senate with Resolution 1383, the International Association of Art Critics, Banco Popular de Puerto Rico and the Shaklee Corporation. He received the Annual Award from the Abud Family Foundation for the Arts in New Jersey and was recognized for his educational contributions by San Juan's Mayor, Dr. Hernán Padilla. He has also been included in the National Dean's List.

Also, an accomplished author, Dr. Méndez Robles chronicled his experiences with exhibitions, art criticism and research in his book "Abdías Méndez Robles: Anthology of an Artist 30-47." He has published over 50 essays, reviews and research papers. He has participated in over 100 solo and group art shows throughout the United States, Europe, Latin America and Asia, and his paintings have been featured in numerous publications. As a lecturer at symposiums, conferences, universities and cultural organizations worldwide, he continues to share his knowledge and passion for art.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where the Museum of Art of Puerto Rico is now located, Dr. Méndez Robles continues to enjoy creating new works of art and presenting new projects. With aspirations for greater international recognition, he hopes to showcase more of his art globally and publish new books about his works and art in general. He also plans to continue participating in various events to expand his influence and guide others toward success in the art world. Finally, he looks forward to traveling and enjoying his accomplishments with his wife.
