She was responsible for U.S., UK, and France entity financial reporting, treasury and cash flow management, donor compliance, audit coordination, and cross-functional collaboration with regional and FP&A teams.

Ms. Tarekegn's earlier roles reflect her steady progression and depth in nonprofit financial leadership. At Nascent Solutions from 2021 to 2022, she provided financial oversight and strategic planning. Prior to that, she held key positions at Orbis International, serving as finance director from 2017 to 2020, finance manager from 2009 to 2016, and finance and grants officer from 2006 to 2009. During this tenure, she managed over $200 million in gift-in-kind donations and implemented robust compliance systems.

Her early career includes finance roles at Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia, World Vision Ethiopia, and Mohan International, where she cultivated a strong foundation in accounting, grants management, and donor relations.

Ms. Tarekegn earned a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from Addis Ababa University and holds a Postgraduate Diploma and an MBA in Operations Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University. Her international credentials are verified by World Education Services. She is also a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, pursuing her Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation, and holds a Financial Management Essentials certificate from NonprofitReady.
