Mr. Oster is a distinguished legal professional with over 18 years of experience in the legal realm. As a partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP since May 2024, he manages foreclosure and real estate matters, including litigation, real estate transactions, distressed properties, settlement negotiations, evictions and appeals. His expertise extends to working with clients in the consumer finance, mortgage lending and loan servicing industries. Mr. Oster is known for maintaining close relationships with institutional clients, ensuring they are informed about regulatory developments and assisting them in implementing compliance policies.

Before joining Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, Mr. Oster was an attorney at LOGS Legal Group LLP, formerly known as Shapiro, DiCaro & Barak LLC, from 2008 to 2024, spending the majority of that time as a senior associate and director of litigation. In this role, he honed his civil litigation and appellate skills, successfully advocating for clients across thousands of cases at the trial level throughout New York. During this period, Mr. Oster's most notable achievement was his success in over 40 appeals across all four New York Appellate Division Departments over the past 14 years.

Mr. Oster's career began as a lead attorney at RJS Abstract Corporation in 2008, where he gained valuable experience in real estate law by examining titles, preparing title insurance policies, and attending closings for residential real estate conveyances and mortgages, among other obligations.

In preparation for his career, Mr. Oster received a Bachelor of Arts in politics, magna cum laude, a Master of Arts in politics from The Catholic University of America in 2003 and a Doctor of Law with a concentration in Public Law from Cornell University in 2006. He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Western Districts of New York.

In addition to his professional affiliations, Mr. Oster has been a member of various industry-related organizations, such as the New York State Bar Association. During law school, he contributed as an events editor for the "Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy." Outside of his professional life, Mr. Oster is actively involved in his local church and political activities within his community.

Mr. Oster has earned several recognitions, including the National Collegiate Student Government Award in 2002 and the Vincent P. Walter Junior Community Service Award in 2003. More recently, he was honored with the Excellence in Civil Litigation Award from Lawyers of Distinction in 2019, and he currently has an "Excellent" rating by Avvo.
