After establishing her practice in 2001, Ms. Finley served as an assistant district attorney in East Baton Rouge Parish from 2003 to 2010. During this time, she honed her skills in criminal law and gained valuable courtroom experience. Concurrently, she was an adjunct professor of law at Southern University Law Center between 2006 and 2010, where she shared her knowledge with aspiring legal professionals. Ms. Finley's professional path was preceded by a notable military career in the U.S. Air Force, where she pursued her passion for broadcasting and journalism as the editor of the base newspaper at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Kansas. Her work earned her recognition as an award-winning journalist and newspaper editor. Additionally, Ms. Finley spent over five years in Japan working with the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps.

Ms. Finley's academic achievements include an Associate of Science in Japanese language and a Bachelor of Arts in business management from the University of Maryland. Subsequently, she received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University, including coursework in international law and international business transactions at Macquarie University School of Law in, Sydney Australia. Ms. Finley's education has been instrumental in shaping her successful legal career.

Beyond her professional endeavors and family life, Ms. Finley consistently donates to several civic organizations, including Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul and the Parish Food Bank.
