LOUISVILLE, KY, April 01, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Aaron Carrithers, MD, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Dr. Carrithers is a distinguished figure in the biotechnology and healthcare sectors, having co-founded multiple ventures resulting in licensing deals and an acquisition. He currently serves as partner and principal consultant at Pewee Valley Bioventures, a life sciences strategy firm specializing in the commercialization of novel medical technologies, devices, therapeutics, and AI-driven healthtech solutions. Since entering the field in 2012, he has spearheaded clinical and corporate development initiatives in roles such as principal investigator, executive vice president, and chief medical officer. In these capacities, he has guided market access and regulatory pathways for emerging medical innovations, overseen clinical trials, structured reimbursement frameworks, and guided payer advisory boards.

He has been instrumental in consolidating diverse intellectual property assets, exemplified by PrognostX Health—a biotech venture he co-founded in 2021—that expedited the development and commercialization of first-in-class prognostic solutions for high-burden chronic diseases, spanning renal, cardiometabolic, and diabetes-related disorders. By 2023, his leadership facilitated a major integration and merger of the company, forging strategic collaborations with prominent institutions and international partners, creating cross-border opportunities for scalable growth.

Beyond his executive responsibilities within his own ventures, Dr. Carrithers has served as a consultant and SBIR grants advisor to a diverse portfolio of life science companies through Pewee Valley Bioventures, where he established himself as a recognized authority in biotech commercialization, private capital strategy, and transformative clinical innovation, leading to his recent transition as principal and partner. Since 2019, he has also helped secure multimillion-dollar federal grants while acting as director of clinical operations at Lagrange Scientific, a multi-omics precision oncology startup, and chief medical officer at Sequela Biotech, a kidney disease–focused medical device and R&D company.

His foundational experiences began with a research internship at Harvard Medical School and a biomedical fellowship at the University of Louisville. Before earning his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Carrithers co-founded his first startup, Biophotomics, in 2016, investigating novel imaging biomarker properties for metabolic energy demands. Subsequent postgraduate work involved a dual fellowship in translational medicine and biotechnology entrepreneurship, sponsored by the NIH and Sequela Biotech.

Further highlighting his versatile achievements, Dr. Carrithers has presented research at leading industry conferences, authored multiple patents in the medical sector, and graduated from renowned healthtech accelerator programs—including UAccel, the Larta Institute, and Concept to Clinic: Commercializing Innovation (C3i) at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. Additionally, he has earned notable athletic accolades, including All-Conference Honors from the Collegiate School of Athletics and All-American Track and Field recognition from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Dr. Carrithers attributes his success to an unconventional career path, venturing beyond traditional paradigms and embracing calculated risks in pursuit of entrepreneurial freedom. This journey has provided him invaluable firsthand expertise in bridging the gap between early-stage scientific breakthroughs and broad-scale clinical implementation. Looking ahead, he seeks to leverage global opportunities in healthcare systems innovations while continuing to refine his skill set through ongoing collaborations with agile biotechnology startups and visionary industry leaders.

Despite the high stakes, his passion remains rooted in the creative challenge of manifesting transformative ideas into viable solutions that reduce systemic inefficiencies and improve patient-focused outcomes. His next phase is dedicated to integrating artificial intelligence with biomedical science and predictive analytics to usher in a new era of intelligent, accessible, and high-impact patient care. Driven by a commitment to disruptive innovation and transformative scalability, Dr. Carrithers stands poised to help reshape the trajectory of modern medicine and redefine the possibilities within the ever-evolving ecosystem of biotechnology and healthcare.
