Most recently, he served as the senior director of clinical development operations for gene therapy at Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. Prior to that appointment, he honed his skills in managing complex clinical trials at Voyager Therapeutics Inc. as the associate director of clinical operations from 2019 to 2020. He has also contributed his expertise to Optum, DaVita, the Colorectal Cancer Alliance, Velocity, and Social & Scientific Systems.

Dr. Silveiras' military experience as the clinical trials center director at the Naval Medical Research Center from 2006 to 2011 was pivotal in his career. He led studies on infectious diseases and tropical medicine, conducting malaria research and providing medical interventions in underserved areas across sub-Saharan Africa and South America. This experience enriched his understanding of global health and regulatory compliance. He received recognition from the U.S. Navy in 2010 and the U.S. Army in 2007. He began his U.S. career at Care Resource, managing infectious disease drug trials in Miami.

Academically, Dr. Silveiras earned an MD from Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1998 before immigrating to the United States. His numerous certifications include Diplomacy in the Modern World from the University of London and Medical Affairs Competency from the Accreditation Council for Medical Affairs.

Dr. Silveiras is a clinical research advisor at the American University of Health Sciences and mentors young adults at the Rx Research Services Foundation. He also serves on the FDA Drug Safety and Risk Management Advisory Committee to help protect patients and families affected by serious diseases. He has authored several articles, including "Educating Minorities in a Nonprofit Organization with Limited Funding and Staff," published by Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention, which describes the Hispanic Community Outreach program he developed for the Colon Cancer Alliance. His contributions to the field have been recognized with the Rare Pearl Award from Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. in 2023 and the DaVita Integrity Award in 2017.
