Ms. Spillane's academic background reflects her versatility. She received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in finance from Wake Forest University (WFU) in 2008. In 2004, she graduated with honors from St. Stephen's College at the University of Delhi (DU), receiving a Bachelor of Science in physics. She received an international women's scholarship to pursue her MBA at Wake Forest and a basketball scholarship to study physics at St. Stephen's. Having been the captain of her high school basketball team, Ms. Spillane continued to play the sport in college and represented DU at the All India Nationals tournament. Although she ultimately chose a career in finance, Ms. Spillane nurtures her passion for basketball by playing recreationally with her children.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Spillane is actively involved in civic-minded organizations. In addition to volunteering for the Asian Network at Wells Fargo and at a local Harvest Bank, she advocates for diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. These commitments reflect her dedication to giving back to the community and fostering inclusivity.

Ms. Spillane attributes her success to the support of her family, community and network. Growing up and attending school in Delhi, India, she relied on this support to gain admission into WFU, transition into consulting and eventually secure a position at Wells Fargo. Ms. Spillane hopes to achieve several professional goals. In the immediate future, she plans to shift her focus to upward management and provide stability and relief to senior leaders as they approach the end of their careers. Additionally, she aims to lead her team through any potential crises using the knowledge she gained during the COVID-19 pandemic, demonstrating to senior management that they can navigate challenges successfully.

As part of her five-year plan, Ms. Spillane aspires to expand her network and leverage her experience to secure a role as a board member for a Charlotte-based small business. She hopes to build connections with trade associations and take on a larger leadership role within her community. Longer-term goals include developing and leading a medium-sized team and sharing her insights and knowledge with the next generation of talent. On a personal level, Ms. Spillane and her husband are committed to building wealth for their two children to ensure they have the resources to pursue higher education and become independent.
