Mr. Adams has established an outstanding career spanning more than four decades in the aviation industry, marked by his expertise in certification and engineering. He currently serves as a full-time consultant and principal engineer for certification, process and designees at Leonardo Helicopters. In his role, he assists the senior certification manager to ensure all certification elements are executed correctly. He is also designated to perform specific tasks on behalf of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and coordinates additional support when needed.

In addition to his role at Leonardo Helicopters, Mr. Adams is the director of certification at Ampaire in Hawthorne, California, where he works with multidisciplinary engineers and is the lead architect of the certification process for a series of hybrid electric aircraft powertrains. Additionally, he is the owner of Summit AeroEngineering, where he has been the president and head of certification and airworthiness since 2015. With a decade of experience in leadership and project management, he has extensive expertise in providing design and modification services for commercial, military and private aircraft.

Mr. Adams' career includes significant roles such as manager of airworthiness and organization designation authorization (ODA) lead administrator at Air Methods Corporation from 2014 to 2016. He was also the certification manager at United Rotorcraft, an Air Methods Division, from 2013 to 2014. Earlier in his career, he held the position of director of engineering at Blackhawk Modifications Inc. from 2010 to 2013 and was the director of regulatory compliance at Spectrum Aeronautical LLC from 2004 to 2007.

Mr. Adams began his storied aviation journey at Rocky Mountain Holdings LLC in 1983. Starting as a helper under the influence of his father who worked there, he advanced through various roles such as technician and quality person before becoming a certification engineer. By the time he left in 2002, he had risen to the position of certification manager.

To augment his knowledge and qualifications, Mr. Adams has been certified as a designated manufacturing inspection representative and designated engineer representative from the FAA. These credentials have greatly aided his ability to ensure that processes are conducted correctly and have bolstered his credibility within the aviation industry.

Mr. Adams attributes much of his success to living with honor and integrity — values that have guided him throughout his professional and personal endeavors. His self-education in type certification over three decades has been pivotal to his accomplishments, allowing him to excel even without formal academic degrees.

Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Adams has been involved in civic-minded initiatives, serving as a Christian missionary and engaging in religious charity work. In his personal life, he enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, snow skiing, hiking and appreciating the beauty of nature.
