MENLO PARK, CA, April 02, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- James Vincent Eade, author and founder and chief executive officer of The Eade Foundation, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the March 2025 San Francisco regional edition of TIME magazine.
Leveraging more than three decades of experience, Mr. Eade is distinguished for his expertise in nonprofit management, chess playing and instruction, and authorship. As a world-renowned chess master, chess tournament organizer and chess book publisher, he founded The Eade Foundation in 2019, a nonprofit organization that provides underserved communities with resources to cultivate proficiency in chess players across the globe.
As the organization's chief executive officer, Mr. Eade has sponsored annual scholarships for student chess players through The Eade Foundation, having also donated hundreds of chess sets to individuals across the world who would otherwise be unable to afford them. The Eade Foundation was initially established in the United States; however, over the past five years, it has expanded into countries worldwide, such as Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Colombia and Nicaragua. Mr. Eade is presently in the process of founding a chess academy in Uganda.
Adjacent to his efforts in nonprofit initiatives, Mr. Eade is the author of the recent title, "Freedom: Your Path to Recovery." Published in 2023, the self-help book is an autobiographical sketch of Mr. Eade's experiences with addiction and recovery while also serving as a means of inspiration for others with addiction who are pursuing a life of recovery. In "Freedom," Mr. Eade discusses the myriad of forms in which addiction presents, as well as promotes the idea that everyone retains the inner strength to release themselves from the shackles of addiction to live with new meaning and purpose. To this end, he also emphasizes the power individuals have to unveil masks of delusion accompanied by addiction, particularly in those whose journey has been met with challenges with conventional recovery programs. "Freedom" is available on Amazon.com and in Barnes & Noble bookstores.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Eade served as a senior systems programmer and director at The Charles Schwab Corporation. Following these appointments, he was a trustee, treasurer and president of the U.S. Chess Trust between 2000 and 2019. A seasoned chess tournament organizer stemming from the 1990s, he developed one of the most respected chess tournaments in the history of San Francisco.
