WASHINGTON, D.C., April 02, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Judith Pratt, MFA, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Ms. Pratt, a professional visual artist with six decades of experience, is the creative force behind Judith Pratt Studio. Since 1978, she has been dedicated to exhibitions and serving the art community through her studio. She was also a mixed-media artist at her studio, where she honed her skills and developed her unique artistic style.

In 2012, Ms. Pratt contributed her talents as an artist at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and during a residency in Auvillar, France, further enriching her artistic journey. Her career also includes a role as assistant curator in the Drawing and Prints Department at The Morgan Library & Museum from 2005 to 2006. During this time, she gained valuable insights into curatorial practices and expanded her understanding of art history.

From 1999 to 2001, Ms. Pratt served as director of communications and marketing at Tudor Place Historic House and Garden in Georgetown, where she utilized her expertise in promoting cultural heritage. Before that, she was the director of admissions at Capitol Hill Day School from 1993 to 1998, showcasing her leadership skills in educational settings. Her earlier roles include art consulting at Judith Pratt Associates, Counsel to the Arts from 1991 to 1993 and director of special events at Rogers & Cowan, Kaufman & Associates for the preceding two years. Additionally, she managed publications and special events at The Shakespeare Theatre from 1986 to 1990 and co-founded and co-directed 411 Art Associates.

Ms. Pratt's academic background has been instrumental in shaping her career, earning a Master of Arts in Modern Art, Connoisseurship and the History of the Art Market from Christie's Education in New York in 2007. Her master's thesis from this time on Florine Stettheimer was recognized by the Jewish Museum for inclusion in their retrospective catalog. She also holds a Master of Fine Arts in painting from American University, obtained in 1977, and a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from The Catholic University of America, completed in 1969. In addition to her education, she attributes her success to the encouragement of exceptional teachers throughout her education.

Beyond her professional life, Ms. Pratt has been active in civic-minded organizations, currently a member of the Mnemosyne Initiative, a program that connects artists globally through virtual platforms. Additionally, she has served on the board of advisors for the Washington Sculptors Group since 2019, supporting emerging artists and contributing to the art community's growth.

In acknowledgement of her achievements, Ms. Pratt has earned a Fellowship Award from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, and was named a finalist for The Trawick Prize. Additionally, she was a semifinalist for the Janet & Walter Sondheim Artscape Prize, and received a purchase award for her work from Olga Hirshhorn.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Pratt enjoys yoga, researching various topics and traveling to gain new perspectives and inspiration for her work. In the upcoming years, she plans to archive her body of artwork, and reach collectors and art institutions who appreciate her unique vision.
