She was the first female and first Black senior class president at UCLA, the first Black model to appear in a national fashion magazine, Mademoiselle, and the first Black model in Demark.

LOS ANGELES, April 03, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Willette Murphy Klausner, producer and owner of WMK Productions, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the February 2025 Manhattan regional edition of Vanity Fair.

Leveraging nearly five decades of professional experience, Ms. Klausner is the owner and producer of the award-winning WMK Productions in Los Angeles. Since 1981, Ms. Klausner has produced and co-produced shows for Broadway, the West End in London and several tours. Through WMK Productions, she has lent her wealth of knowledge to the production of numerous titles, such as "Stereophonic," "Hadestown," "MJ the Musical," "The Wiz," "Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations," and "Three Mo' Tenors" among many others. Currently, Ms. Klausner is developing numerous projects. Distinguished for her creative vision, she is also well-regarded for promoting an emotional connection between her work and her audience.

Ms. Klausner's unwavering commitment to excellence has produced a lifetime of pioneering achievements. She was the first female and first Black senior class president at UCLA, the first Black model to appear in a national fashion magazine, Mademoiselle, and the first Black model in Demark. Additionally, she was the first Black merchandising executive at Bloomingdales and the first female and first Black corporate vice president at MCA Universal Studios.

Impressively, Ms. Klausner was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from The Drama League in 2022 and appeared in Marquis Who's Who of Professional Women in 2024. In accounting for her success, she credits the influence of her parents, who taught her the value of a diligent work ethic, and the support of her husband, public figure and attorney Manuel Klausner, to whom she has been married for 55 years. Additionally, she emphasizes the importance of perseverance and unparalleled focus on her work. In the coming years, Ms. Klausner endeavors to finish several production projects that she aims to debut on Broadway and other global stages.

EDUCATION HIGHLIGHTS
To prepare for her career, Ms. Klausner attended the University of California Los Angeles, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in economics. She also attended Tobe Coburn School for Fashion Careers to supplement her academic experience and open new doors to success.

MEMBERSHIP HIGHLIGHTS
Ms. Klausner is a member of the International Women's Forum and several industry organizations, including New York Women in Film and Television (NYWIFT), American Associates of the National Theatre, and The Drama League. She is also a board member of the Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts (CAAPA).
