He began his career as an executive of Sotheby's International Realty from 1980 to 1984, where he represented the company internationally and co-founded its project marketing division. Mr. Burnett's educational background includes a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University School of Business in New York City in 1993 and a Bachelor of Arts from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine in 1977. His academic achievements have provided him with a strong foundation for his career in real estate, enabling him to excel in marketing and sales strategies for luxury properties.

A member of the Urban Land Institute, he serves on the board of the International Luxury Hotel Association and multiple non-profit organizations.
