Prior to her current role, Dr. Dvir honed her skills as a clinical fellow in hematology and medical oncology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute from 2021 to 2024. During that time, she also completed a hematology and oncology fellowship at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. Leading up to these experiences, she served as a resident physician at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach from 2018 to 2021, where she gained invaluable hands-on experience in patient care.
Originally from Ukraine, Dr. Dvir has experienced life as an immigrant multiple times, moving from Ukraine to several countries in Europe before the United States. She began her career in Europe, where she practiced medicine in various countries, including Israel and the United Kingdom. From 2016 to 2018, she worked as a medical doctor with the National Health Service, which provided her with a broad perspective on health care systems and patient communication. Dr. Dvir's early career also included roles in clinical data management at Teva Pharmaceuticals from 2009 to 2012 and as a clinical research associate at Cato Research from 2008 to 2009 after starting her journey in the medical field as a research assistant and clinical research coordinator at Sheba Medical Center from 2006 to 2008.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both internal medicine and medical oncology, Dr. Dvir is an active member of several prestigious organizations, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association and the British Medical Association. Her contributions to the medical community are also reflected in her role as a peer reviewer for breast cancer-focused medical journals. Additionally, she has published numerous articles, which have received nearly 80 citations, one of her most notable achievements.
Dr. Dvir's academic achievements are extensive and have significantly contributed to her professional success. She earned a Bachelor of Science in life science from Tel Aviv University in 2005 followed by a Master of Science in medical science with a focus on neuroimmunology, graduating magna cum laude, from the same institution in 2008. Later in her academic and professional career, Dr. Dvir then pursued her medical degree, obtaining a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from St George's, University of London, in 2016.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Dvir is civically engaged through initiatives like Great American Teaching. In her personal life, she enjoys playing pickleball and writing stories for her children. In reflecting on her personal and professional trajectory, she attributes much of her success to the unwavering support of her family and friends, particularly her husband, who works as a computer engineer from home.
