Mr. Mason's professional journey began as an accounting assistant at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois, from 2011 to 2014. He concurrently served as a circulation specialist and data analyst at the university's LaVerne and Dorothy Brown Library. In 2013, he joined First Community Financial Bank, now First Secure Community Bank of Joliet, as a credit analyst, where he honed his skills in financial analysis for two years. Subsequently, he transitioned to Legacy Professionals LLP as a staff accountant from 2015 to 2016 and later advanced to senior accountant for the following year. His tenure at Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP, now Baker Tilly US LLP, as a senior audit associate from 2018 to 2019 further solidified his expertise in auditing.

In addition to his role as chief executive officer at Equibis Accounting, Mr. Mason serves as a virtual chief financial officer and virtual accountant outsourced to clients. He has furthered his expertise through membership in industry-related organizations, such as the American Institute of CPAs and the Illinois CPA Society, where he has been the chairperson of the Young Leaders Advisory Council since 2020. He was initially introduced to the latter organizations by a football teammate and fellow accounting student in college.

Mr. Mason's academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science in accounting, earned in 2014 from the University of St. Francis. His education was supported by a football scholarship, which played a pivotal role in shaping his career path.

In 2015, Mr. Mason earned his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in business data analytics from the same institution and became a certified public accountant through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation in 2017, serving as a financial auditor. However, his entrepreneurial aspirations continually drew him back to the idea of starting his own business. Confident in his expertise and ability to provide CFO-level financial advisory services, he set out to support small businesses in his community. Driven by a passion for giving back and serving as a trusted resource, he established his own accounting firm.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Mason is deeply committed to civic engagement. He has served as a business sponsor and board member for Chicago NORML since 2019 and is involved with several other organizations, including the Mary T. Washington Wylie Internship Preparation Program Selection Task Force for the Illinois CPA Society and the African American Alumni Association at the University of St. Francis. His volunteer efforts extend to Bethany Community Church and DayBreak Center under Catholic Charities Diocese of Joliet.

In recognition of his leadership and volunteerism, Mr. Mason has received numerous accolades, including the Young Professionals Leadership Award from the Illinois CPA Society in 2022 and recognition from both the American Institute of CPAs and Chicago NORML for his contributions. He was also recognized as the VIP Pro Official Member by Dope CFO from 2020 to 2023.

Outside of his professional life, Mr. Mason enjoys spending time with his family, going to the gym and supporting his children's sports endeavors alongside his wife. Looking ahead, he aims to continue empowering small businesses with financial leadership while expanding his company's reach by training others to replicate his successful approach in various communities.
