Dr. Williamson has established a prominent career of nearly 30 years in radiation oncology, marked by her dedication to patients' well-being and ability to balance her professional and personal commitments. Her storied medical journey began at the University of Pennsylvania satellite in Trenton, New Jersey, where she served as a radiation oncologist from 1996 to 2005. During this time, she honed her skills in patient care and developed a reputation for her exceptional ability to connect with patients in a holistic manner.

In 2005, Dr. Williamson took on the role of medical director of radiation oncology at the Charlotte Kimelman Cancer Institute in the United States Virgin Islands, where she served until 2008. Her tenure was highlighted by her efforts to establish a cancer center as well as her involvement in public outreach through newspaper articles and television appearances. She also conducted research to inform and assure patients of the quality care that was locally available.

From 2008 to 2024, Dr. Williamson served as the medical director of radiation oncology at Capital Health Medical Center in Pennington, New Jersey. Her leadership extended beyond clinical duties as she served on the hospital board and contributed significantly to the development of cancer treatment programs as chair of the cancer committee. Concurrently, she was the chief executive officer of Next Level World - a company created to blend art, music and fashion - showcasing her diverse interests and expansive leadership skills.

Upon retiring from her medical career, Dr. Williamson pursued her passion for floral design and became certified as a floral designer by the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) in 2021. She currently applies her creative talents at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida, while continuing to engage in locums radiation oncology work.

Dr. Williamson's equally accomplished academic journey laid a strong foundation for her career achievements. She earned a Doctor of Medicine from Howard University in 1991, followed by an internship in internal medicine at Franklin Square Hospital Center. Her residency training included two years at Howard University Hospital and two years at Thomas Jefferson University, both in radiation oncology. Prior to her medical education, she obtained dual Bachelor of Science degrees, one in anatomy and the other in mathematics and computer science, from McGill University. She attributes much of her success to her husband, whose steadfast support helped her balance her work with family responsibilities.

To stay aware of the latest developments and best practices within the field, Dr. Williamson has been a member of the American Society of Radiation Oncology, the American Brachytherapy Society and the Radiosurgery Society (RSS). She also served as president of the American Cancer Society Inc., reflecting her passion and commitment to advancing cancer treatment and awareness. Her storied contributions have been recognized with several accolades, including the Shining Volunteer Award from the American Cancer Society and multiple Castle Connolly Awards. Furthermore, she has been named a Top Doc several times in New Jersey and received the Henschke Hill Radiation Oncology Award.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Williamson enjoys a fulfilling personal life with her husband and their three children. They are active members of the Naples Orchid Society and enjoy gardening at home, growing flowers, vegetables and fruit trees. In their spare time, they relish spending time with their dog, visiting the beach and swimming.

In the coming years, Dr. Williamson plans to continue her work as a floral designer while exploring opportunities to write books on topics such as nutrition and cancer. Already a published author, her work "The Ultimate Guide to Relaxation with Flowers" showcases her knowledge and expertise beyond health care. She aims to share her diverse experiences and give back through writing while balancing locum work with her creative pursuits. Traveling with her husband is also among her future aspirations as she and her family continue to embrace the South Florida lifestyle.
