Dr. Rossi received a Bachelor of Arts in biochemical sciences from Harvard University in 2005. After graduating from Harvard, he worked in the research lab of Dr. Josep Dalmau MD, PhD at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he played an integral role in discovering a novel autoimmune disorder associated with ovarian cancer known as NMDA encephalitis. Following this work, he completed medical school at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, earning a Doctor of Medicine in 2012. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, from 2012 to 2015. He then pursued a cardiovascular disease fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic from 2015-2018, followed by additional fellowships in interventional cardiology, advanced endovascular procedures and structural heart disease from 2018-2020, also at the Cleveland Clinic.
Before joining Heart Specialists of Sarasota, Dr. Rossi worked at the Bradenton Cardiology Center in Bradenton, Florida, where he further developed his proficiency in complex cardiac procedures. During this time, he established a program for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) at Manatee Memorial Hospital to help treat patients experiencing cardiac arrest. As a leading member of the hospital's structural heart program, he was the principal investigator on numerous research trials evaluating new innovations in catheter-based cardiovascular devices.
Dr. Rossi's professional journey is complemented by his active involvement in several prestigious organizations. He is a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and cardiac computed tomography. He is also a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). He is committed to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of advancements in the medical field.
To date, Dr. Rossi has authored numerous research papers on cardiovascular interventions, showcasing his commitment to advancing knowledge in cardiology. For his clinical contributions and excellence, his accolades include being named a Top Doctor in the Sarasota area by SRQ Magazine in 2024 and being honored as a New England Journal of Medicine 200th Anniversary Scholar in 2012. He is also a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society.
In all he has pursued and achieved, Dr. Rossi attributes much of his success to the work ethic instilled by his parents and the unwavering support of his wife. Beyond his professional endeavors, he has been involved in numerous civic activities, including a public health project related to HIV/AIDS transmission in Johannesburg, South Africa and assisting veterans through a program that helps them obtain GED diplomas. These efforts underscore his dedication to giving back to the community. In his leisure time, Dr. Rossi enjoys spending time with his family, reading books and playing guitar. As a father of four children, he also values his time with his family.
